Hebron Academy, a private preparatory school located one hour drive from Portland, has agreed to sponsor MGIHA’s summer girls hockey clinics.
The school, which has its own rink and high level hockey programs for girls and boys grades 6 through 12, is donating equipment for the MGIHA equipment trailer so that girls in Maine can give hockey a try for free or at low cost.
The equipment will be used to lend to girls who want to try ice hockey this summer at three locations in Southern Maine.
MGIHA President, Jeff Hird of York, welcomed Hebron’s support saying: “Hebron Academy and MGIHA are natural partners. Hebron offers one of the top girls hockey programs in Maine and it makes perfect sense for them to support the growth and development of girls hockey in Maine. MGIHA needs more donated gear and Hebron is helping us in a number of ways.
